Publications NAPSLO offers a number of publications regarding the Association and the surplus lines industry. The NAPSLO News is published every other month and current and past issues are available. In addition the following other publications are available by selecting Newsletters from the side bar. Current year issues are available to the public. NAPSLO Explores Marketing Campaign
To try to determine how retailers view the wholesale brokerage system, the NAPSLO Communications & Technology Committee has been working with MKB, a Chicago marketing & advertising firm to conduct a survey of retail agents regarding our industry. The survey is the first step in possibly developing a marketing and advertising campaign to explain and promote our industry. Using the results of the survey the agency will develop the marketing materials that could be used in the campaign. For more information, see the special campaign section. Prepared annually since 1994 by the A.M. Best Company for the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation. Provides results of solvency study of surplus lines industry and reviews current industry issues. The 2007 Executive Summary is available free to the public The complete 2007 report is being mailed to NAPSLO members and is also available to Members online. Results from an annual survey of NAPSLO and AAMGA broker members on broker/managing general agent operations conducted by NAPSLO until 2002 and undertaken by the AAMGA in 2003. Results of survey are published each summer and the complete reports are available to download. NAPSLO Technology Survey
Security, developing web portals, and going paperless are among the top focus areas for IT staff, according to a survey of NAPSLO members conducted in February 2007 by the Association's Communications & Technology Committee. The Information Technology Research Project Report was completed by KPMG Peat Marwick in February 1999 discusses the use of technology by firms in the Surplus Lines industry.
