Foundation recognizes recent ASLI graduates

Professionals completing the Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) designation program over the past  year were recognized at the 2003 NAPSLO Annual Convention in San Diego by the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation.

The top four graduates were Kathleen A. Ofsonka, AU, AAM, ASLI, Product Development Analyst, American Re-Insurance Company; Matthew S. Cook, AU, AAI, AIS, ASLI, Associate Underwriter, Markel Southwest Underwriters; Arthur Todd DeLoach, AIC, ARM, ASLI, Vice President, CDI Insurance Company;  and Janice P. Page, AIS, ASLI, Underwriter, Louis A. Williams & Associates.

Cook, DeLoach and Page received a cash award of $250 for Academic Excellence; Ofsonaka, the Distinguished Graduate received a $500 cash award.

The Insurance Institute of America (IIA) developed the ASLI designation program for surplus lines professionals with support from NAPSLO and the Foundation, which sponsors and funds the academic awards.

 The ASLI designation program consists of four courses and national examinations.  The courses include coverage of the purpose, evolution, regulation, and distribution of surplus lines insurance.  Additional information about the program is available on the IIA web site at www.aicpcu.org.
