Previous NAPSLO Interns NAPSLO established the Internship Program to attract new talent to the surplus lines insurance industry. Surplus Lines is a specialized segment of the insurance industry that is also referred to as non-admitted, specialty and/or excess lines. Coverage for risks are placed with the surplus lines market when they cannot be placed with standard carriers in the admitted/licensed market.
Over 150 students have participated in the NAPSLO Intenship Program since its inception in 1981, over half of these former interns are currently working in the insurance industry and many are employed by NAPSLO member firms.
