2008 Mid-Year Workshop set for Feb. 20-23 in Scottsdale

The 2008 NAPSLO Mid-Year Educational Workshop is scheduled for February 20-23 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Arizona. Registation will start in late November and the early registration deadline was January 3. After Feb. 3 all registrations must take place on-site at the Mid-Year.
Registration, On-line or Paper
Notices were sent to NAPSLO members in late November with information regarding online registration. Members could register for the meeting through the NAPSLO web site and then reserve hotel room through the Fairmont Scottsdale web site. Members also could download a paper registration form and complete and submit it to NAPSLO to be processed. After Feb. 3 all registrations takes place on-site at the Mid-Year.
Mid-Year Hotel
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is scenically set in the Valley of the Sun against Arizona's McDowell Mountains. This resort is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, and a recipient of the AAA Five Diamond Award, setting them apart from others in the area. Members must enter NAPSLO's Group Code in order to reserve a room in NAPSLO's room block. The code is provided on confirmation page of the registration web site. Rooms reserved in NAPSLO's room block by non-registrants will be cancelled.
Programs & Activities
Among the Mid-Year Workshop programs will include a look at the impact of private equity on the specialty lines insurance industry and a review of the proposed interstate compact and current legislative issues.
Tours will include the Paddle Up: Desert River Float, and Epicurious Hor'dorves and Wine Pairing demonstration. Spa treatments will also be available from the Willow Stream Spa at the resort.
In addition, the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation has organized their annual Foundation Golf Invitational on Friday, February 22 at the TPC Champions Course.
The Closing Reception will take place Saturday night, February 23. The nightcap party will be a Saloon and Casino Night from 9:00 to 11:30 p.m., allowing delegates the opportunity to make dinner reservations on their own.
