Private Equity: Impact on the Insurance Industry

The insurance sector has seen an explosion in growth from private equity investors as investors see the disruptions in the marketplace opportunities to make a profit. Also, as investors gain more insurance industry experience, they’ve grown more comfortable with what often is seen as a complex industry.
Because private equity favors investments in areas where a market has been displaced, the property/casualty market has been a popular investment choice in recent years.
To examine this issue, a panel of private equity fund investors, insurers, and brokers will provide an overview of private equity on the insurance industry, and specialty lines in particular. The panel will look at what are private equity investors are looking for; how they operate; and the impact on the business and the industry.

Mr. Lieberman oversees the print magazine and its several web properties and manages the overall business of the magazine's parent company, Political World Communications, LLC. During his tenure, the magazine and its suite of products have grown faster than any time in its 27-year history.
Prior to serving as Publisher, Lieberman consulted on numerous campaigns and advocacy programs in the United States and abroad. In 2004 Lieberman split his public affairs and political consulting businesses, and formed Campaign Impact Services, LLC.
Saloon & Casino Night: Nightcap Party
Saturday, February 23, 9:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
The NAPSLO Mid-Year Workshop's Closing Reception will be a Saloon & Casino Night Cap Party scheduled Saturday from 9:00 - 11:30 p.m. This late-night event will give attendees a chance to make dinner reservations and return for a nightcap at the Saloon & Casino Night event. Door prizes will be at 10:00 p.m., followed by casino prizes at 11:00 p.m. The grand prize will be a $2500 gift certificate to a stay at a Pebble Beach Resort hotel including The Lodge at Pebble Beach or The Inn at Spanish Bay.
This western-style casino will be complete with blackjack, craps, poker tables and roulette. Non-casino acitivies will include a piano player and sing-along, a Snake Toss and old fashioned Quick Draw. Plan to wear casual attire for this outdoor evening event.
