NAPSLO Vice President speaks to Washington Group
NAPSLO Vice President Mary Ellen Rozzell spoke on the surplus lines marketplace and current legislative issues to the Women in Housing and Finance (WHF) group in Washington, D.C. on November 30.

Speaking to the WHF Insurance Task Force, Ms. Rozzell reviewed the federal standards approach to reforming insurance supervision adopted by the House of Representatives and the alternative federal chartering proposal under consideration by the Senate. The House of Represenatives passed a federal standards bill concerning surplus lines (HR 5637) in September but it has not been taken up by the Senate.

Approximately 30 attended the meeting. WHF provides a forum for experts in the financial services field to share their views and insights about what is transpiring.

Update Membership Information
NAPSLO is sending out membership update forms and member firms should note any address or other changes and return the forms by mail or fax to NAPSLO by December 23 so NAPSLO can include the changes in the 2007 Membership Directory.

Main office firms will receive a main office address update form and also a list of the firm's listed branch offices. Main office firms without branch offices will receive a branch office form to add branch office(s). Adding an additional branch office requires a $200 payment per new branch location.  Current branch offices also will receive an update form listing the current branch office information.

NAPSLO Committee Roster Available
A copy of the NAPSLO Committee Roster list is available to download from the NAPSLO website.  The roster, which will also be included in the Membership Directory printed next spring, lists the current NAPSLO Board and the committee members. Committee members met in Dallas on Nov. 13-14 to plan programs for the upcoming year.
