Mid-Year Educational Workshop
Registration materials for the 2007 NAPSLO Mid-Year Educational Workshop, set for March 1-3, are being mailed to members and will be available to download from the NAPSLO web site as of Nov. 17.

The Mid-Year will take place at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort in Indian Wells. Events start on Thursday, March 1 with the Opening Reception and programs on reinsurance and balancing work and life will take place Friday and Saturday morning.

The Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation Golf Invitational will take place on Friday, March 2. 

NOTE: Due to concerns over fraud issues, NAPSLO will no longer accept wire transfers as payment. Registration fees must be paid by check or credit card.

NAPSLO PAC Fundraising to Start
Members of the Legislative Committee, following FEC rules and guidelines, will be contacting NAPSLO member firms by the end of the year to answer questions about the NAPSLO PAC and also to secure financial support. 

The NAPSLO Board has set a goal of having two-thirds of member firms contribute to the PAC. 

The PAC assists NAPSLO's efforts in Washington. Because of the impact elections could have on the makeup of Congress NAPSLO organized the PAC a year ago to assist candidates who support our views. During the recent election NAPSLO supported a number of candidates from both parties.

 Educational Schools
NAPSLO recently completed two schools on surplus lines with 67 employees of NAPSLO member firms attending the NAPSLO Advanced School in Dallas in early November and 37 regulators attending the NAPSLO-NAIC Surplus Lines Education Program at the NAIC offices in Kansas City.

NAPSLO holds the Advanced School each fall and the NAIC-NAPSLO regulators school takes place every other year. 

NAPSLO Staff Notes
NAPSLO Assistant Coordinators, Communications/Meetings Jessica Myers gave birth to Taylor Nicole Myers  Sunday, November 5.  She came in at 7 pounds even.

NAPSLO received two communications awards recently from the Kansas City chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.  The awards were part of the group's annual communications contest.

NAPSLO received a PRISM Award (first place) for the 2005 NAPSLO Convention Brochure and a Silver Award (second place) for the Legislative Video shown at the 2005 & 2006 Annual Convention.
