Tapley O. Johnson, Jr. is new President of NAPSLO Tapley O. Johnson, Jr., CPCU, CIC, Charleston, South Carolina, is the new President of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Ltd. (NAPSLO).
Mr. Johnson is President of TAPCO Underwriters, Inc. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University and began his insurance career in 1963 with Crawford & Company. He later joined the North Carolina Farm Bureau and was with them until 1979 when he joined the wholesale side of the industry. He founded TAPCO in 1983.
He has served as chairman of the South Carolina Surplus Lines Association and is a past founding board member of the North Carolina Surplus Lines Association. He was elected to the NAPSLO Board of Directors in 1996 and served as Co-Chair of the NAPSLO Education Committee prior to being elected Treasurer in 1998. He has since served as Secretary and Vice President.

• Secretary - H. James Griffith, President & CEO, Princeton Risk Managers, Inc., Princeton, New Jersey.
• Treasurer - Richard L. Polizzi, ASLI, President & CEO, Western Security Surplus Insurance Brokers, Inc., Pasadena, California.
Elected for new three-year terms as directors are: Andrew S. Frazier, CPCU, President and Chief Executive Officer, Western World Insurance Group, Franklin Lakes, New Jersey; William H. Newton, President, Lemac & Associates, Inc.; Los Angeles, California; R. Max Williamson, CPCU, President and Chief Operating Officer, Scottsdale Insurance Company, Scottsdale, Arizona; Mr. Cortezi, and Mr. Polizzi.
In addition, Mary Ellen Rozzell, President of Continental/Marmorstein & Malone, Paramus, New Jersey, was appointed to complete the remaining year of Tim Pedersen's term, who recently completed his tenure as immediate Past President of the Association.
Officers serve one year terms and are selected from the current directors, who serve three year terms.
