William H. Newton elected President of NAPSLO
Chicago, Illinois - September 16, 2006 - William H. Newton of Lemac & Associates, Los Angeles has been elected for President of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Ltd. (NAPSLO).
NAPSLO member firms voted at the Annual Business Meeting, on Friday, September 15, to approve the slate of Officers and Directors selected by the Nominating Committee. The business meeting took place at the NAPSLO Annual Convention held at the Hilton Chicago.
Mr. Newton founded Lemac & Associates in 1984 and currently the firm is a division of Risk Placement Services, Inc. He began his insurance career when he joined Hartford Insurance Group. He then worked for Willcox, Baringer & Company and S.L. Alexander before starting Lemac & Associates. Mr. Newton has also served as Chairman of the Surplus Line Association of California and was a founding member and former President of the California Insurance Wholesalers Association.
He was elected to the NAPSLO Board of Directors in 1999, was elected an officer in 2003, and has served as Treasurer, Secretary and Vice President. He received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.
The following individuals were elected as new NAPSLO officers:

• Vice President – Mary Ellen Rozzell, President, Continental/Marmorstein & Malone, Paramus, New Jersey.
• Secretary – John F. Wood, III, CIC, CIW, President, Specialty Risk Associates, Inc., Shreveport, Louisiana.
• Treasurer – Dale H. Pilkington, President, Colony Insurance Company, Richmond, Virginia.
Elected for new three-year terms on the NAPSLO Board are Gregory T. Crouse, Crouse & Associates Insurance Brokers, Inc., San Francisco, California, and Gilbert C. Hine, Jr., CPCU, McClelland & Hine, Inc., San Antonio, Texas.
Re-elected for new three-year terms on the NAPSLO board are Letha Heaton, Evanston Insurance Company, Deerfield, Illinois, Matthew D. Nichols, All Risks, Ltd., Hunt Valley, Maryland, and Mr. Pilkington. Directors serve three-year terms on the Board and Officers serve one-year terms.
