Richard L. Polizzi, ASLI, elected President of NAPSLO
Richard L. Polizzi, ASLI, of Western Security Surplus Insurance Brokers, Inc., Pasadena, California was elected President of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Ltd. (NAPSLO) during the NAPSLO Annual Convention in Orlando.
NAPSLO member firms elected the slate of Officers and Directors during the Annual Business Meeting, on Wednesday, September 22, at the NAPSLO Annual Convention held at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida.
Richard Polizzi is President and CEO of Western Security Surplus Insurance Brokers, Inc. which he founded in 1981. He started his insurance career with Fireman’s Fund in 1969 and later worked in the surplus lines industry in Nevada from 1971 to 1975. He was a Vice President and Branch Manager for IWest from 1975 to 1981.
Mr. Polizzi received a bachelor’s degree from California State University at Northridge and has completed the Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) designation. He joined the NAPSLO Board in 1998.
The following individuals were elected as new NAPSLO officers:

• Vice President - Lawrence M. Wesson, Jr., President and COO, U.S. Risk Insurance Group, Inc., Dallas.
• Secretary - William H. Newton, President and Owner, Lemac & Associates, Inc., Los Angeles
• Treasurer - Mary Ellen Rozzell, President, Continental/Marmorstein & Malone, Paramus, New Jersey.
Elected for new three-year terms on the NAPSLO Board were Marshall P. Kath, Heath Holdings USA, Inc., Dallas.; Thomas F. Mulligan, Western World Insurance Group, Franklin Lakes, New Jersey; and Gary L. Tiepelman, CPCU, ASLI, Scottsdale Insurance Co., Scottsdale, Arizona.
Re-elected for new three-year terms on the NAPSLO board are: Mr. Polizzi and Mr. Newton. Directors serve three-year terms on the Board and Officers serve a one-year term.
