NAPSLO members recognized for their service
David Hartoch was awarded the Charles A. McAlear/NAPSLO Industry Award during the awards ceremonies at the 2003 Annual Convention.
The Industry Award was established in the 1980s to honor those who have made significant contributions to the surplus lines industry.
"Much of the growth and success of this years annual convention can be attributed to actions he promoted years ago when he was president and on the Board of the Association," said NAPSLO President Nick Cortezi.
Hartoch served as NAPSLO President from 1993-94. During that time he promoted ideas such as adding a Brokers' Lounge for networking and expanding the convention an additional day. He was also a member of the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation Board from 1992-95. Hartoch also was credited with inspiring the NAPSLO/NAIC School, attended by insurance regulators.

The award recognized their recent work overseeing the Legislative Committee. During the past year, the committee drafted a set of Regulatory Principles which will be used by future NAPSLO Boards and committees as guidance on legislative and regulatory issues.
The award, presented by President Cortezi, recognizes committee chairs for outstanding service.
