Advanced School set for Nov. 13-16
Registration materials for NAPSLO’s Advanced School, set for November 13-16 in the Dallas area, will be mailed in July.
The school will be held at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center in Grapevine, Texas.
“This facility has been an excellent location for the school,” said Bob McFall, Education Committee Co-Chair. “The hotel is only five minutes from DFW airport and that makes it easy access for most of our members.”
Segments offered include The Claims Experience - the surplus lines claims process; Avoiding the Sting - recognizing possible scams and fraud; Reinsurance and the Alternative Risk - current issues and trends in the market place; Finance - financial accounting and reporting; and The Art of Brokering- the excess and surplus lines broker in a changing market. New segments added this year include a review of current legislative issues and a segment on Errors & Omissions.
People with more than five years experience in the surplus lines industry are encouraged to apply. The school offers a comprehensive look at surplus lines and provides the opportunity to meet with others in the industry. Completion of the NAPSLO E&S School is not a prerequisite.
The school opens with Perspectives From the Top, a presentation by Jim Carey, CPCU, President of Admiral Insurance Company. Mr. Carey will also be on the Executive Panel, along with Andrea Nash, CPCU, Essex Insurance Co.; Lawrence M. Wesson, Jr., U.S. Risk Insurance Group; and John F. Wood, III, CIC, CIW, Specialty Risk Assoc., Inc.
