Advanced School set for November 4-7, in Dallas
Registration materials for the Advanced School, set for November 4-7 in the Dallas area, will be mailed to NAPSLO members in August. Materials will also be available on the web site.
Education Committee Co-Chairs Randy Jones and Steve Allen noted that the school has sold out quickly the past few years and expect it to do so again this year. They advised that members interested in sending employees should register them as soon as possible.
The school will include sessions on claims, finance, recognizing scams, reinsurance & alternative risk, and brokering. A new session on understanding exposures, emerging trends and specialty marketplace responses to E-business has been added this year.
The cost for the three-day school is $1,250, which includes room and board and course materials. The registration deadline is October 5.
People with more than five years experience in the surplus lines industry are encouraged to apply. The school offers a comprehensive look at surplus lines, and provides the opportunity to meet with others in the industry. Completion of the NAPSLO E&S School is not a prerequisite.
The school opens with Perspectives From the Top, a presentation by Andrew S. Frazier, President of Western World Insurance Group.
Members on the Executive Panel will be Michael Kehoe, James River Insurance Co.; Marshall Turner, AXIS U.S. Insurance; Lawrence M. Wesson, Jr., U.S. Risk Insurance Group; and Kevin Westrope, Westrope.
Instructors are Philip R. Ballinger, CPCU, ASLI, Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas; Richard M. Bouhan, NAPSLO; Richard Clarke, J. Smith Lanier & Co.; Andrew Forstenzer, Crump of New York; Randall D. Jones, Maxum Indemnity Co.; Marshall P. Kath, Colemont Brokerage Group, Inc.; Jean M.
