Large attendance expected for convention in New Orleans
Registration for October 3-6 Convention in New Orleans, mirrors recent years with more than 3,000 expected to attend
Registrations for the New Orleans convention remain strong, said President Bill Newton. It's the large number of attendees that make this networking meeting so successful.
The convention will get underway on Wednesday, October 3 with the Opening Reception at the Sheraton New Orleans. The New Orleans Marriott and the Sheraton are co-headquarter hotels. NAPSLO sessions and the Brokers' Lounge will be at the Marriott.
The Brokers' Lounge will again be divided into Zone areas, making it easier for members to meet with others. A map of the zones will be available in members' convention program booklets.
Programs start on Thursday morning with a welcome by James J. Donelon, Louisiana Commissioner of Insurance. His speech will be followed by Changing Markets, Changing Laws: What's Ahead for the E&S Wholesaler? The program will feature a panel of leading Company and Broker representatives discussing current issues and legislation under review and the effects on surplus lines.
Friday opens with award presentations and an address by President Bill Newton. Political consultants James Carville and Mary Matalin will present the annual Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation presentation. In addition, ASLI conferees and NAPSLO interns will be recognized.
Friday morning's program concludes with the Annual Business Meeting. On Saturday, a number of attendees have signed up to work on a rebuilding project with the New Orleans Area Habitat For Humanity chapter.
