New ASLI class recognized at convention

The top graduates of the Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) program were recognized at the NAPSLO Annual Convention in New Orleans.

The Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation sponsors the awards, which were presented by Foundation Treasurer Andrew S. Frazier, CPCU, and Joseph D. Timmons, CPCU, ASLI, president of the Foundation.

The top four graduates of the 2007 class were:  Lora N. Moncrief, ASLI, All Risks Limited, St. Petersburg, FL; Michael L. McNitt, CPCU, AIC, ASLI, Cabrillo General Insurance Agency, San Diego, CA; Jean M. Mueller, CPCU, ASLI, Scottsdale Insurance Company, Glendale, AZ; and Terry M. Seckel, CPCU, ASLI, Scottsdale Insurance Company, Chandler, AZ.

Moncrief, the Distinguished Graduate, won $500 and a commemorative plaque. 

McNitt, Mueller, and Seckel won Awards for Academic Excellence, which include a cash award of $250 and a commemorative plaque.

NAPSLO also presented ASLI diplomas to members of this year’s class of new designees who attended the convention in New Orleans.

The Insurance Institute of America (IIA) developed the ASLI program for surplus lines professionals with support from NAPSLO and the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation.
