Committees review a number of topics at Committee Day
More than 100 Committee and Board members attended the NAPSLO Committee Day in Dallas in November to review and plan activities and programs for the upcoming year.
In addition, this year the International Committee members attended Committee Day to discuss ways to communicate to international members current actions the Association is undertaking.
Other committees also reviewed a number of plans during the two day meeting. The Communications & Technology Committee worked on projects to attract young professionals to the industry and also update a technology survey (see stories on Pages 1 & 3).
The Convention Committee started work on the 2007 annual meeting, scheduled for October 3-6 in New Orleans. The theme of the meeting will be ÒThe Big Easy Rising: Rebuild, Rebirth, Renew.Ó
The Education Committee reviewed plans for the two sessions of the NAPSLO E&S School (see Page 6) and also plans for the Advanced School in November.
The Legislative Committee worked on ways to increase contributions to the NAPSLO Political Action Committee and increase members involvement.
The Membership Committee reviewed membership applications and also made plans for a survey of members to get their views on the current state of the Association.
That committee is also looking at developing a new membership kit and setting up a new member reception at the annual convention.
The Internship Committee announced it would have a breakfast at the Mid-Year Workshop for perspective intern hosts. A letter was sent to members in early January, but members interested can also send an e-mail to internship@napslo.org.
A list of committees and committee members is available to download from the About NAPSLO section of the NAPSLO web site.
