Annual Convention: New Orleans
Registration materials for the 2007 NAPSLO Annual Convention, set for October 3-6 in New Orleans, will be sent to all NAPSLO member offices in June. Members planning to attend the convention are recommended to register as soon as possible as the hotels fill quickly.
The convention will take place at the New Orleans Marriott and the Sheraton New Orleans. The hotels are adjacent, in addition, overflow rooms will be available nearby at the J.W. Marriott.
"Attendance at NAPSLO's conventions increases annually," said Bill Newton, NAPSLO President. "Members are urged to register early as the main hotels fill quickly."
In addition to the popular "Zone" areas in the Brokers' Lounge, NAPSLO is adding a special "Brokers' Club" area. Firms may purchase a reserve table in the Brokers' Club area for $1,500.
The annual convention will get underway on Wednesday evening, October 3, with the Opening Reception. Programs are set for Thursday and Friday.
Thursday's program features a panel discussion, Changing Markets, Changing Laws: WhatÕs Ahead for the E&S Wholesaler? Broker and Carrier panel members will take a look at the political future of the insurance industry and Surplus Lines in particular.
James Carville and Mary Matalin will be the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation Lecture Series speakers on Friday. They will give their insights on the 2008 presidential election.
Friday's programs also include NAPSLO's award presentations, a recognition of ASLI designees, and the annual business meeting.
In addition, members will have an opportunity on Saturday to participate in a Habitat for Humanity project in the area. Members can also elect to make a financial contribution. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. No experience is necessary,
Registration fees are $695 for delegates ($575 for the sixth and additional delegates) and $375 for spouses. Registration fees will increase after July 27.
