Attendance in New Orleans Again Breaks 3,000
NAPSLO continued to see a large number of attendees at the annual convention, with nearly 3,300 registered for the meeting in October in New Orleans.
The convention featured husband and wife duo James Carville and Mary Matalin who presented the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation Lecture.
There was also a presentation, Changing Markets, Changing Laws: Whats Ahead for the E&S Wholesaler? The panel featured top industry leaders discussing current topics.
Louisiana Insurance Commissioner James Donelon addressed attendees regarding current issues in Louisiana.
Several award presentations also took place, including awarding the Charles A. McAlear/NAPSLO Industry Award to Kurt Bingeman.
The Richard M. Bouhan Legislative Advocacy Award was presented to Andrew Frazier. Philip R. Ballinger, Jr. and Randall D. Jones also received awards. ASLI designees, NAPSLO interns and intern hosts were recognized as well.
The meeting began Wednesday with the Opening Reception, and programs were Thursday and Friday.
On Saturday, approximately 100 attendees helped with a project with Habitat for Humanity.
The 2008 Annual Convention is scheduled for Sept. 10-13 in San Diego, CA.
