NAPSLO Past Intern Recognized
NAPSLO will recognize Gary E. Frohn, one of the first NAPSLO interns, and a longtime member of the surplus lines industry, who passed in September, by naming the 2008-09 NAPSLO Scholarship in his name.
The scholarship is one of 10 scholarships the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation administers.
The Board wanted to recognize Gary who spent his 25-year career in the surplus lines industry, said NAPSLO President Mary Ellen Rozzell.
Mr. Frohn was an insurance major at Eastern Kentucky University and was a NAPSLO Summer Intern in 1982, working for Admiral Insurance Co. and Bryson Associates. He was later selected as a NAPSLO J. H. Blades Scholar and received an additional internship in London in 1983.
Upon graduation in 1983 he joined the Bryson Associates, Jenkintown, Penn. office and in 1992 established the Cincinnati branch office for Bryson. He later joined Partners Specialty Group and in 2005 he established their Ohio operations. He also served on the NAPSLO Internship Committee from 1989-92.
The Foundation awards approximately 10 scholarships yearly to students pursing an insurance career. The deadline to apply for scholarships for the 2008-09 school year is June 1, 2008 and information is available on the NAPSLO Web site.
