Sarah Proper selected J.H. Blades Scholarship recipient

Sarah Proper was selected as the 2007 Joseph H.  Blades Memorial Scholarship recipient and will receive an additional internship next summer with HSBC in London.

Ashley Euper, Joshua Hart, David Kramar, Katie Lyons, Sarah Proper and Brittany Thompson were the six interns selected to attend the annual convention and were interviewed by the Internship Committee to determine the J.H. Blades Scholar. 

The 2006 J.H. Blades Scholar was Ana Maria Raducan who was an intern for Harman Kemp North America, Ltd. in London.

Ashley Euper, Clio, Mich. A student at Olivet College with an expected graduation of May 2008. Her summer hosts were Scottsdale Ins. Co., Scottsdale, Ariz., and Swett & Crawford, Los Angeles. 

Joshua Hart, Gaylord, Mich. A student at Olivet College with an expected graduation of June 2008. His summer hosts were Evanston Insurance Co., Deerfield, Ill., and CRC, Chicago.

David Kramar, Sellersville, Pa. A student at Temple University with an expected graduation of December 2008. His summer hosts were General Star Indemnity Co., Stamford, Conn., and Burns & Wilcox Ltd., Farmington Hills, Mich.

Katie Lyons, Pell City, Ala. A student at Troy University. She graduated in August 2006. Lyons summer hosts were Western World Insurance Group, Franklin Lakes, N.J., and AmWins Brokerage, New York.

Sarah Proper, Coon Valley, Wis. A student at St. Mary’s University with an expected graduation of May 2008. Her summer hosts were Endurance Specialty Marketing Insurance Operations, Los Angeles,  and Crump Insurance Services, Inc., Dallas.

Brittany Thompson, Elba, Ala. A student at Troy University with an expected graduation of May 2008. Her summer hosts were RLI, Peoria, Ill., and AmWins Brokerage, Chicago

Eric Quinn, Port Huron, Mich. A student at Olivet College with an expected graduation of May 2008. His summer hosts were Markel Underwriting Managers, Red Bank, N.J., and Westrope, Kansas City, Mo.

Karen Silverman, Philadelphia, Pa. A student at Temple University with an expected graduation of December 2007. Silverman’s  summer hosts were American Safety Indemnity Company,  and Insurance House, Inc., in Atlanta.

Joseph Hackler, Jr., Myrtle Beach, S.C. A student at University of South Carolina with an expected graduation of May 2008. His summer hosts were Liberty Surplus Ins. Corp., New York, and Colemont Ins. Brokers, Farmington, Conn.

Intern Resumes

Intern resumes are available on the NAPSLO Web site at www.napslo.org, under the Internship section. NAPSLO member firm login and password are required. 

Interns participate in a comprehensive nine week program to gain experience working in various departments of both company and broker areas of business.

The application deadline for the 2008 program is December 1.
