Nearly 700 attend Mid-Year Workshop in Palm Springs
The Mid-Year Workshop continues to be well-attended by NAPSLO members. NAPSLO attendees reviewed current issues and trends, and looked at the future of reinsurance. A presentation on balancing career and personal satisfaction was also offered.
Nearly 700 people attended the Mid-Year meeting, which took place March 1-3 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort in Palm Springs.
Friday's program featured a presentation on strengthening personal relationships and balancing work and home life. Dr. Will Miller used the analogy of "refrigerator rights" and spoke on the importance of establishing closer relationships with those around us.
Saturday's panel discussion focused on current perspectives and emerging issues in reinsurance. Panelists were Paul Goodwin, Munich Reinsurance America; David Leonard, RSUI Group, Inc.; Thomas Leonhardt, Towers Perrin Reinsurance; and moderator Dick Bouhan, NAPSLO.They discussed the recent challenges to the industry and their expectations that the demand for reinsurance will grow.
In addition, the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation's annual golf outing took place on Friday. Over 150 golfers participated and the event was very successful, raising approximately $100,000.
The 2008 Mid-Year Workshop is scheduled for February 20-23, 2008 in Scottsdale.
