NAPSLO working to attract new talent to industry
The NAPSLO Communications & Technology Committee is working on a number of projects to help attract people to the excess & surplus lines industry.
Encouraging college students and other young professionals to consider working in the industry has been a priority and the Committee has begun looking at ways to promote the industry to college and young professionals.
Last fall the Committee starting working with Marketing Strategies Group on ways to raise awareness of the industry.
As part of the project, the Committee helped set up a focus group in September at the NAPSLO Annual Convention to explore the needs of members regarding recruiting and hiring new employees.
After the Committee reviewed the results and examined options, an outside group, Marketing Strategies has started working on projects.
In addition, NAPSLO is in the process of adding a Careers section to the web site which would feature information about the industry and the various opportunities available.
As part of the process, the NAPSLO member locator has recently been updated to allow users to search for members that currently list job openings.
Users can search by member type, location, or type of Associate member.
NAPSLO will be sending a notice to members asking if they would like to be included in the search function. Firms also can notify NAPSLO at info@napslo.org to be listed.
The job opening location function will provide users with the firmÕs name, city, state, phone number, contact and web site.
