Hank Greenberg to Speak at Convention

Maurice R. “Hank” Greenberg will be the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation Lecture Series speaker at the 2008 NAPSLO Annual Convention at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego & San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina, Sept. 10-13.

Mr. Greenberg is Chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr & Co., Inc.  Mr. Greenberg’s address is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 12. 

“Mr. Greenberg spoke to NAPSLO’s 1988 convention and as an industry leader it will be interesting to hear his views on the changes in the industry,” said Convention Chair John Wood.

The Convention’s Opening Reception is set for Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday will be an open day. 

The committee is currently reviewing potential service projects in the San Diego area for Saturday and if members have suggestions they can submit them at info@napslo.org.

Convention changes

Responding to member comments, NAPSLO is removing restrictions on when or where on-site or off-site functions may take place, other than events may not conflict with the Opening Reception Wed. night.

In addition, because of a large convention at the hotel prior to the NAPSLO meeting, there are a limited number of rooms available on Tues. night. As a result the Brokers’ Lounge will open at Noon on Wed. so members will not need to arrive on Tues.

Registration will start around June 1 and members can register online or download paper registration forms. 

Meeting space will be available at both hotel properties for day meetings on Wed. (Noon-4 p.m.), Thurs. (7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.), and Friday (7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.); and in the evenings for receptions on Wed. (after 8 p.m.), Thurs. (5 p.m. - Midnight) and Fri. (5 p.m. – Midnight).  Registration for Meeting Space will also begin June 1.
