NAPSLO selects 2008 interns

NAPSLO selected 15 students to participate in the Association’s 2008 Summer Internship Program.

Selected interns participate in an extensive program, spending five weeks with a NAPSLO member surplus lines insurance company and four weeks with a NAPSLO member wholesale broker.

At the end of the program, several interns will be invited to attend the annual convention in the fall.

2008 Summer Interns 

Margaret Britt, Oxford, MS. A student at the Univ. of Mississippi with expected graduation May 2009. Her summer hosts are Nautilus Insurance Co., Scottsdale, AZ and G.J. Sullivan, San Diego.

Aldrich Callins, Tuscaloosa, AL. A student at the Univ. of Alabama with expected graduation May 2009. His summer hosts are Great American, Cincinnati, and CRC, Chicago. 

Ryan Coburn, Olivet, MI. A student at Olivet College with expected graduation May 2009. His summer hosts are Markel Underwriting, Red Bank, NJ and Hull & Co, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Vanessa Contreras, Normal, IL. A student at Illinois State University with expected graduation May 2009. Her summer hosts are Evanston Insurance Co., Deerfield, IL and RISC, Inc., Dallas.

Carla Dawtrey, Ontario, Canada. A student at Fanshawe College with expected graduation April 2008. Her summer hosts are Liberty Surplus Ins. Co. and Swett, both of New York.

Wes Edison, Denton, TX. A student at the Univ. of North Texas with expected graduation May 2008. His summer hosts are American Safety, Atlanta and Insurance House, Marietta, GA.

Kelly Fortner, Terre Haute, IN. A student at Indiana State University with expected graduation May 2009. Her summer hosts are Essex Ins.Co., Glen Allen, VA and Westrope, Kansas City, MO.

Michael McGonigle, Las Cruces, NM. A student at New Mexico State with expected graduation May 2009. His summer hosts are Scottsdale Ins. Co., and RPS, Scottsdale, both of Scottsdale, AZ. 

Claude Mueller, Tallahassee, FL. A student at Florida State University with expected graduation May 2009. His summer hosts are Arch Insurance Group, New York and AmWins-NY.

Ashley Murphy, El Dorado, AR. A student at the Univ. of Louisiana  at Monroe with expected graduation May 2009.  Her summer hosts are XL Excess & Surplus Lines, Exton, PA and U.S. Risk,  Dallas.

Cameron Rodgers, Olivet, MI. A student at Olivet College with expected graduation May 2009. His summer hosts are RSUI Group Inc. and Peachtree Specialty, both of Atlanta.

Cody Rowe, Boone, NC. A student at Appalachian State University with expected graduation December 2008. His summer hosts are Colony Insurance Co., Richmond, VA and Quirk & Co., San Antonio, TX.

Rachel Somerford, Denton, TX. A student at the Univ. of North Texas with expected graduation May 2009. Her summer hosts are Endurance Ins. Co. and Swett, both of Los Angeles.

Petra Stumpf, Athens, GA. A student at the University of Georgia with expected graduation May 2008. Her summer hosts are Western World, Franklin Lakes, NJ and Continental Marmorstein & Malone, Paramus, NJ.

Brian Thomas, Opelousas LA. A student at the Univ. of Louisiana at Lafeyette with expected graduation May 2008.  His summer hosts are Scottsdale Ins. Co., Scottsdale, AZ and Quaker Special Risk, Worchester, MA.
