Education & Schools


The Excess & Surplus Lines School is a three-day residential school offered each summer for men and women with two to five years of overall insurance experience but who are new to the surplus lines segment of the industry.  Dates for the 2013 E&S School are: June 2-5.

 

The Marcus Payne Advanced School is designed for insurance professionals with five or more years' experience and provides an extended course of study for experienced surplus lines professionals. It is offered each fall.  Dates for the 2013 Advanced School are: November 3-6.

 

The Executive Leadership School at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business is designed for senior-level members who wish to broaden their perspectives on important social, political and economic issues influencing the insurance industry.  The 2014 Executive Leadership School will take place in April.


The Surplus Lines Professional Selling Skills course is a new sales training program for surplus lines brokers, general agents and underwriters. The course will be offered in several regional locations and in smaller class settings than NAPSLO’s existing schools and the first course will take place Aug. 14-15 in the Chicago area.

 

NAPSLO works to develop and update a number of Continuing Education and Online Courses for individuals seeking to expand their knowledge of the surplus lines industry.
