NAPSLO offers a number of publications regarding the Association and the surplus lines industry. The NAPSLO News is published every other month and current and past issues are available. A.M. Best U.S. Surplus Lines - Market Review
The annual financial review of the surplus lines industry has been prepared annually since 1994 by the A.M. Best Company, through a grant by the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation. The report provides results of solvency study of surplus lines industry and reviews current industry issues. The 2012 Executive Summary is available free to the public The complete 2012 report was e-mailed to NAPSLO members and is also available to Members online or available to members by emailing info@napslo.org. The complete report may be purchased from A.M. BEST.
NAPSLO Marketplace Survey
A May 2009 survey of NAPSLO members showed that the majority of wholesale brokers and E&S carriers are not seeing a decline in capacity or a tightening of terms along specialty lines, but are seeing an increase in submission activity. Full results of the survey are available to download.
Income & Expense Survey
Results from an annual survey of NAPSLO and AAMGA broker members on broker/managing general agent operations conducted by NAPSLO until 2002, and published in 2004 and 2005 by the AAMGA, are available to download by members.
NAPSLO Technology Survey
Security, developing web portals, and going paperless are among the top focus areas for IT staff, according to a survey of NAPSLO members conducted in February 2007 by the Association's Communications & Technology Committee. Additional details are available in the Technology Survey section.
Information Technology Research Project
The Information Technology Research Project Report was completed by KPMG Peat Marwick in February 1999 discusses the use of technology by firms in the Surplus Lines industry. Offers self-assessment guide to help users interpret the results of the study for their firm. The Executive Summary is available for download in Adobe Acrobat format.

Working With The Excess & Surplus Lines Market
A Working With The Excess & Surplus Lines Market brochure was developed with the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) as a way to provide information to agents on Submitting Bids, Financial Strength of the Industry, Eligibility to Write Policies, Financial Solvency, Claims and the Value of the Surplus Lines Broker.
