Legislative Advocacy & PAC
NAPSLO advocates on behalf of its members to preserve and enhance their position in the market. NAPSLO’s legislative and regulatory efforts play an important role for the Association by monitoring and expressing the membership’s positions on state and federal issues affecting the surplus lines industry.
NAPSLO, assisted by its Legislative Committee, works with state and federal organizations where objectives are consistent with NAPSLO positions and principles. In order to ensure NAPSLO members’ interests are represented on important and timely issues, NAPSLO provides comments and advocacy outreach to state and federal legislators, insurance regulators and other important groups influencing the practices and procedures of the surplus lines insurance industry.
NAPSLO’s legislative efforts are also advanced by the NAPSLO PAC, which is committed to supporting candidates for the U.S. House and Senate whose philosophies and attitudes are consistent with the goals of NAPSLO, the surplus lines industry and the wholesale distribution system. NAPSLO members can learn more about the PAC on the NAPSLO PAC website. The NAPSLO PAC receives contributions from employees of NAPSLO members who support the PAC goals. The PAC does not solicit any other individuals. The NAPSLO PAC website is intended for the use of NAPSLO member employees only.
Important legislative and regulatory updates are distributed to all NAPSLO members and can be found in the NAPSLO News. For a detailed summary of our most recent state and federal legislative activity, please see our March 2017 Comprehensive Legislative Update.
